This intensive Zen workshop focuses on realizing the essence of Kado, the Way of the Flower. We approach fine arts as a “Dō,” a Way of training to deepen the Zen experience. Zen is a mind, body and spiritual discipline to help us thoroughly realize that we and the Universe are One.
Mastering the form and techniques is not enough. In Kado, though you may end up with a beautiful flower arrangement, it is the principle underlying and manifested in the arrangement that matters more. Thus, practitioner must experience no separation between self and flower: You and the flower are one.
