Transcending Chaos

About the event

A viral pandemic, political and social unrest, economic uncertainty, education disruption and  racial tension, and a critical election. The level of anxiety, fear and  emotions is running higher than ever. So many people feel that they’ve lost control and can’t make sense of the world.  ” They just see chaos, isolation and turmoil in front of them.

None of these issues can be attributed to any single factor. Many conditions have come together to bring us to this point. This is the reality in which all things are interdependent upon the other. In Buddhism, we call it “conditional existence.”

Think of it this way: Planting carrot seeds in a garden doesn’t guarantee a harvest in four to six months. Other conditions such as essential soil nutrients, adequate sunlight and rainfall must be also be satisfied. Only when these conditions are met can the carrots come into existence.

No single cause, no single effect. Nevertheless, each of us can help change or interject conditions that will change situations as they develop. And by changing ourselves to benefit others, we can change the world to benefit others. So, if you want to help change the world in this way, consider participating in this workshop.

Learn how to stay centered while also developing a flexible mind.

- Part 1 of this workshop will focus on anxieties and other emotions that might arise during the last few days before this election.

- Part 2 will focus on how to handle expectations and other feelings resulting after the election – whatever the results may be.

We recommend that participants attend both Parts 1 & 2. Suggested donation for the workshop is $50. (If cost may be an issue for you, please contact us.)
