Introduction to Zen Meditation will focus on using Zen principles to help you learn how to use breath, posture and frame of mind to create clarity and calmness through exercises and meditation. Sessions include physical and breathing exercises and meditation. All three sessions are required.

About the event
This class is open to anyone who wants to learn how to meditate. No previous experience is needed.
Introduction to Zen Meditation is open to anyone who wants to learn how to meditate. Classes provide an introduction to Zazen, or sitting meditation. We will focus on using Zen principles to help you learn how to use breath, posture and frame of mind to create clarity and calmness through exercises and meditation. Because of the nature of the classes, all three classes are required and will only be in-person.
The suggested donation is $100, payable to the Seattle Zen Dojo. Note: If you cannot afford this, please contact us. We do not want cost to be a barrier to those who are sincere in their desire to learn and to train.
What to Wear
· Comfortable, loose clothing (avoid wearing jeans).
· No tank tops or shorts.
· No strong fragrances, no jewelry.
· Avoid garlic for at least three days before coming
What to bring
· Yoga mat or beach towel (to lie on the floor for exercises)
· Water
Arrive early and use the entrance on S. Weller; the west door which has JCCC signs. The door is locked, so please ring the doorbell or call 206-459-5790 for admittance.
